RESOURCES

None of these websites, books, or products are in any way sponsoring me, making me money, or benefitting me in any way at all other than the joy or utility they have brought to me, personally or professionally.

BREASTFEEDING WEBSITES

First droplets - Especially helpful for parents who have not yet given birth! Wonderful resource on how to get breastfeeding off to a good start from the beginning. Very detailed information on how to latch.

Kelly Mom - Excellent source of info on all things breastfeeding written by IBCLCs. No stone is left unturned here!

Free to Feed - Definitive information about allergies and food reactions. If you are worried your baby has an allergy to something in your diet, having clear and accurate information is crucial to make sure that your baby is happy and you have the least restrictive diet possible. This is an excellent place to start learning.

E-lactancia - This is my favorite resource for information on compatibility of medications with breastfeeding. Easy to search and clear, helpful answers.

IN PERSON SUPPORT GROUP

Baby cafe - search to find a local group near you. It is so helpful to connect with other breastfeeding families in person!

BOOKSat your library or wherever books are sold!

So That's What They are For, Janet Tamaro - This is not an instructional/how to book, but more of a support for the struggles of breastfeeding. I 100% giggled so much reading it while trapped under my sleeping first baby that I woke her from her nap, more than once.

Work.Pump.Repeat., Jessica Shortall - There are lots of books about going back to work. This one is funny, informative, and gives lots of support and practical advise about how to keep breastfeeding after going back to work, including dealing with air travel and in remote locations.

Mom Milestones and More Than A Million, by the amazing Grace Farris - Grace Farris' comics make me feel seen and understood and make me feel better about what's hard with parenting (also anyone who validates that it's OK to not want my kids to play with glitter is a-OK with me!)

MUSIC

Dan Bern - Two Feet Tall. Calming and soothing for babies, enjoyable for parents. I loved this album so very much when my second baby was a baby (actually, I still do!). "Shoes" and "Binky" were favorites in our home.

MOVIES

Tully - not a new movie (it's from 2018), but a very real look at the "fourth trimester" and postpartum mental health.

Away We Go - also not new (from 2009!) but a sweet movie about expectant parenthood
